Celebration
In preparation for the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple, 7,000 youth in our temple district have spent many hours in preparation and practicing a Celebration with dance and music, which was preformed at the Conference Center last night. Steve and I attended at our Stake Center where it was broadcast live. All I can say is WOW! Unbelievable to have been responsible for such an undertaking! They built a large stage and the youth sang and preformed songs ranging from the native Indians, Polynesians, the Pioneers, the 20's, 40's - D-Day, Patriotic, Big Band Era, 50's and even a little 'Hip Hop'. The choreography was amazing as you looked down onto the stage to see kalidscopes of color and designs. Sections in the audience had youth swaying banners of color back and forth. What incredible youth we have! I am sure this celebration will be a cherished memory for all. Steve and I look forward to June 2nd as we will be hosts that evening at the open house for the Temple!

Double Trouble!
So, last night I came home from work and found Steve watching "Finding Nemo" and I hear a little voice saying "Hi Gammie...hi Gammie." Apparently Steve had agreed to watch Regan while Angela took Madi & Jaxson to a late matinee. I had gone to Costco on my lunch and began putting items away downstairs in the storage room. While downstairs I thought I'd hurry and check my email. While doing so I hear the same sweet little voice again only this time saying, "Ewe......messy...messy." This of course brought to me my full attention and I turned around to find that my 'little darling' has climbed up into my craft closet, had gotten a container of black craft paint (which was stilled sealed with plastic and never been opened). She apparently squose it hard enough that the paint leaked out from the bottom of the cap and she had black paint not only all over her on her cute pink, red & white shorts, but it had also squirted all over the carpet as well! Meanwhile of course Papa is upstairs enthralled in Nemo" all by himself and obvious to what is going on ....OOooh........DOUBLE TROUBLE!!!

Sunday Talks
Papa and I get the opportunity to speak in Sacrament Meeting today! We've been in the ward 4 years now, and had manage successfully to fly under the radar until now!?!? We really do have an exceptional ward and love it soooo much! I hope that we can be inspired to give messages that will touch their hearts and feel the spirit.
Papa's topic is "Faith to Move Mountains." He will share his experience of faith in the mission field, when he and his companions experience and survived a mighty hurricane in Samoa. They were in a condemed house, but unable to leave due to a missionary who was ill at the time. Destruction was all around them, but they were protected.
He will close with a quote from Pres. Gordon B. Hinkley, "Increase our faith to bridge chasms of uncertainty and doubt...Grant us faith to look beyond the problems of the moment to the miracles of the future...Give us faith to do what is right and let the consequences follow." His talk is awesome as usual!
My topic is "Seeking the Kingdom of God." I will share a Glen Rawson story about 'Walking on the edge' and a quote from Elder Neal A Maxwell, "If we do not choose the Kingdom of God first, it will make little difference in the long run what we have chosen."
I will close my talk with Mosiah 2:41 "And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it."

AHhhh Spring!

I LOVE spring! The world and I seem to come alive! Each evening when I arrive home and I see my yard decorated in the beautiful colors of spring, it lifts my soul! This picture doesn't do it justice! The beautiful groundcovers of white, purple, pink and yellow, and all the trees (Front & back) bursting with fragrant blossoms! Sigh!

The Islands are calling...
Every few months we have adult dinner groups in the neighborhood in which I am in charge of. We have between 50 to 100+ people involved. On Saturday, 4/18, I hosted a group and did a South Pacific/Luau evening, complete with decor and music of the islands. I served Hawaiian Chicken, Teriyaki rice and pina coladas. The others brought Pineapple/Strawberry Spears, Tossed Green Salad, rolls and a yummy Sour Cream Banana Coconut macadamian nut cake - Delish! (See Grammie's Goodies)
